Tiomila: Live on the Web

Starting at 6pm eastern time (Sat night) will be 10 hours of live coverage fromm Sweden of the Tiomila relay on the internet. 7,000 participants in this race. Mike Waddington will be running the first leg for Umea OK. Former GHO member, Brent Langbakk, is running the anchor leg for Tyrving team #2.

Internet coverage will include live GPS of the top teams. Watch for Mike in his GHO winter jersey on the start line. www.tiomila.se

25.08 by The Manitoba Kenyan

As predicted, the rally record was destroyed tonight. As in DESTROYED. Patrick took of right from the start and he beat the old record with 1.31 minutes! The new record time is 25.08. Also Hans beat the old record, but "only" with 11 seconds. Must be the coaching.

First Rally For the Season

This Thursday, we will run the summer rally for the first time since October/November last year. The loop is around 6 km and the record time is 26.39. Yes, there are a few hills. However, have no doubt that this time will be beaten very soon...

To join the rally crowd, just come to Chedoke golf course parking lot this Thursday, warm-up will start at 6pm.

Giant's Rib Raid Results

Our top club team this year was GHO Canada GHO in the open male category, a mere 6 minutes behind the winning team. Also, club member Mark Tarnopolsky was on the winning co-ed Team LSN.

As always, thanks to all the volunteers who spent time to make this race happen. Particular thanks go to Mike for this year's course planning and Hans for logistics leading up to the race and making things go smoothly on race day.

Saturday featured the US Relay Championships in the afternoon. GHO team of Mark, Hans, Barb, and Mike captured the gold medal for first overall team in the 4-point category.

Flying Pig: Race Report #1

The GHO Canada GHO gang kicked off the spring season at the Flying Pig in Ohio on the weekend with a sweep of the elite men races. Hans Fransson, Patrick Goeres, and Mike Waddington won the middle, sprint, and classic courses respectively. GHO also won the US Relay Championships (more details coming soon).

The Flying Pig is known for mud and this year's race certainly didn't dissapoint in that category. Patrick Goeres won the muddiest participant award.
