Training logs on Attack Point

www.attackpoint.org is an excellent web site to track your training this winter. You choose the training categories (running, adventure racing, skiing, golf, etc.) and enter comments for each session. The web site plots your progress and allows you to export the data as well. Also on the web site is a discussion board and an option to place comments on other people's training logs.

Best of all it is free. But it would be great if GHO could make a small donation to the web master early in the new year. Look for several GHO Canada GHO members on Attack Point. They include: Sudden, Meridian, MrPither, SuperWes1000, Bash, Hammer, TVP, and more....

2006 Canadian Championships

2006 is a great year for orienteering in Ontario. The Guelph Gators will host the Canadian Champs on August 26th and 27th while GHO will host the North American Champs from October 06-09.

Info about the 2006 Canadian Champs is trickling in and the recent COF newsletter mentions that the middle distance day of the COC's will be at Terra Nova. This is a great area that I raced on a half dozen times in the early to mid 80's. Last race was likely 1988. The area has lots of contour detail and very little water features.

Sudden wins THOMASS Kickoff!

Two years ago the winter adventure running season kicked off at Kelso Conservation area and Laszlo Orosz beat out Hans Fransson at the end of the course. This year the season also kicked off at Kelso but this year Hans 'Sudden' Fransson took first (and 50 points towards the series standings) just ahead of Orosz.

Mark Innes of the Gators Orienteering Club set a challenging course that started with some fast and furious park orienteering, then a tough trail climb up the escarpment to the THOMASS Box, and finished with a few checkpoints across the downhill ski area.

THOMASS Chase & GHO Year-end party (December 11th at Rattlesnake Point)
