Hammer 10K Nite & 5K Lite - Feb 9

On Thursday February 9th GHO Canada GHO training (open to all GHO members) will be an urban adventure run. Park in the Chedoke golf course parking lot. The course starts at the bottom of the Chedoke stairs (and yes the first checkpoint is 'upstairs'. The full distance is about 10K (10K Nite) but there is also a 5K version (5K Lite). The map above shows a portion of the course. All roads and houses are in black and all lamp posts and lights are shown as orange dots. All of the checkpoints in this Nite event will be Lites. No controls or ribbons will be at the locations but instead you need to count the number of wooden, concrete and metal lamps on the course. Participants on the 10K are not permitted to bring a headlamp but 5K participants can wear a headlamp. Also no compasses allowed. The goal of this training is map memory (remember/visualize as much as possible when you have no Lite). Start anytime from 5:45PM to 6:15PM. Course closes at 7:30PM

Following the orienteering there will be a club meeting at 8-10PM at the WaddSquad residence (99 Bond Street North) with free drinks and pizza.

To reserve a map email Mike.
