National Capital Orienteering Festival

Congratulations to GHO members competing in Ottawa last weekend in the NCOF and the national team trials. The GHO women were strong. Emma Waddington winning the W12 category, Elena Logvina silver in the sprint and gold in the long; W35, Trudy Deumer bronze in the middle and gold in the long; W45 and Julie De Pass winning the W65 long course.

Hans had a admirable bronze in the elite men's middle distance and finished 6th overall in that category. Mark Adams won gold in the M45 sprint, Neville De Pass silver in the M75 long, Serghei Logvin silver in the M 17 middle and Glenn Birnie bronze in the M45 middle distance.

Special mention to Mike Waddington finishing 5th in the elite men's middle distance course. First event back after knee surgery!

As always, the Ottawa Orienteering Club hosted an excellent event in some very challenging terrain, making the drive well worth the efforts.
